The tragic death of a man found in a vehicle submerged in flood water in Sonoma County over the weekend punches home the fact that it is never safe to drive into flood waters.
UPDATE: Flood warning for Sonoma County until early Sunday morning, according to the NWS
On Friday at 3 a.m. an updated flood warning was issued by the NWS San Francisco CA valid from Friday 9 p.m. until further notice.

While the weather on Saturday offered a break from recent rains, Sonoma County is still having to contend with flooded driveways, fields, and grounds soaked in water, and flooded roadways.
‘It Is Never Safe To Drive Or Walk Into Flood Waters’, Nws Warns
According to the National Weather Service, motorists should never drive around the barriers blocking a flooded roadway as it might have collapsed under that water. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just two feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks, the NWS explained.
