The Seminoles trailed 24-23 with under five minutes left to play. FSU eventually got hot at the right time, shooting 50 percent from behind the arc, and led 37-27 at the half. It translated handsomely in the second half when FSU outscored UMass 55-32. FSU led by as many as 36 points and coasted the rest of the game.

FSU coach Leonard Hamilton and his young group are highly dependent on its athleticism, speed, and defense and have led to winning five of the last six games. FSU is ranked 14th in the country with 69 steals, averaging 11.5 steals per game.
