The Carolina Hurricanes have activated winger Seth Jarvis off of injured reserve signifying that he may be ready to return to game action. The 22-year-old forward has missed the team's last seven games due to what has been labeled as an upper-body injury.

RALEIGH, N.C. - Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated forward Seth Jarvis from injured reserve. In addition, the team has recalled goaltender Yaniv Perets from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) and assigned defenseman Ty Smith to the Wolves.

On Sunday, the Hurricanes reactivated star forward Seth Jarvis from injury list after the player missed his team's last seven games.

Jarvis, 22, has missed Carolina’s last seven games with an upper-body injury. Prior to the injury, he earned 11 points (4g, 7a) in 13 games played. Jarvis ranked second among Hurricanes skaters in goals (33) and points (67) in 2023-24,

While an IR designation doesn't save any cap space it does however open up a roster spot. The NHL has a hard limit of 23 players on an active roster at any one time. A player who is placed on IR is also ineligible to play for at least seven days, so this rules Jarvis out for the weekend, but allows him to potentially return next week.
