The 27-year-old son of Norway’s crown princess has been accused of a second rape just days after he was arrested on suspicion of the same offense.

On Nov. 19, Crown Prince Haakon spoke about the arrest of his stepson, 27, the day prior. Crown Prince Haakon is Marius' stepfather through his marriage to Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Mette-Marit welcomed her son Marius during a relationship that preceded her 2001 marriage to Haakon, and Marius does not have a royal role within the monarchy.

Norwegian police have arrested Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, on suspicion of rape. The 27-year-old, who is not an official member of the Royal House, was taken into custody late Monday night as part of an ongoing investigation.

Marius Borg Høiby, 27 – who was born from a relationship prior to Mette-Marit’s 2001 marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, the heir apparent to the Norwegian throne – was arrested on Monday for the third time since August.

Marius Borg Hoiby has no royal title or duties, but as the stepson of the heir to the throne, his arrest has cast a cloud over Norway’s popular royal family.
